Round-up of Alternative French Gunmen Theories, With Updates

terrorist attack

With the whirlwind of information coming in about the gunmen that killed the staff of a French newspaper and hostages in a small cafe/grocery, it has been difficult to piece together an accurate picture of what happened. With that in mind, let’s survey a sample of alternative explanations for what may have happened:

Paris attack designed to shore up France’s vassal status: Roberts
(excerpt)

“A former White House official says the terrorist attack that killed 12 people on Wednesday in Paris was a false flag operation “designed to shore up France’s vassal status to Washington.”

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, who was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal, made the remarks in an article published on Thursday.

“The suspects can be both guilty and patsies. Just remember all the terrorist plots created by the FBI that served to make the terrorism threat real to Americans,” he wrote.

He said that the French economy is suffering from the US-imposed sanctions against Russia. “Shipyards are impacted from being unable to deliver Russian orders due to France’s vassalage status to Washington, and other aspects of the French economy are being adversely impacted by sanctions that Washington forced its NATO puppet states to apply to Russia.”

Dr. Roberts stated that French President Francois Hollande this week said that the sanctions against Russia should end. “This is too much foreign policy independence on France’s part for Washington.”

He added that the CIA has apparently resurrected a policy that it followed against Europeans during the post-WW II era when the US spy agency would carry out attacks in European states and blame them on communist groups.”

From Tony Cartalucci:
(excerpts)

“January 8, 2015 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – In an all too familiar pattern and as predicted, the shooters involved in the attack in Paris Wednesday, January 7, 2015, were French citizens, radicalized in Europe and exported to Syria to fight in NATO’s proxy war against the government in Damascus, then brought back where they have now carried out a domestic attack. Additionally, as have been many other domestic attacks, the suspects were long under the watch of Western intelligence services, with at least one suspect having already been arrested on terrorism charges.”
“The implications of yet another case of Western-radicalized terrorists, first exported to fight NATO’s proxy war in Syria, then imported and well-known to Western intelligence agencies, being able to carry out a highly organized, well-executed attack, is that the attack itself was sanctioned and engineered by Western intelligence agencies themselves,. This mirrors almost verbatim the type of operations NATO intelligence carried out during the Cold War with similar networks of radicalized militants used both as foreign mercenaries and domestic provocateurs. Toward the end of the Cold War, one of these militant groups was literally Al Qaeda – a proxy mercenary front armed, funded, and employed by the West to this very day.
Additionally, in all likelihood, the brothers who took part in the attack in Paris may have been fighting in Syria with weapons provided to them by the French government itself. France 24 would report last year in an article titled, “France delivered arms to Syrian rebels, Hollande confirms,” that:
President Francois Hollande said on Thursday that France had delivered weapons to rebels battling the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad “a few months ago.”
Deflecting blame for the current attack on “radical Islam” is but a canard obscuring the truth that these terrorists were created intentionally by the West, to fight the West’s enemies abroad, and to intimidate and terrorize their populations at home.” href=”http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2015/01/paris-shooters-just-returned-from-natos.html#more”>(link)

Videos show Paris gunmen were calm as they executed police officer, fled sceneBy Mitchell Prothero
McClatchy Foreign StaffJanuary 7, 2015
(excerpts)

“IRBIL, Iraq — The gunmen who attacked the Paris editorial offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday appeared to be focused professionals who’d carefully prepared the assault.Video showing two of the assailants suggests they were well trained, striking their target during its weekly editorial meeting, when most of the publication’s journalists would be gathered in one place.Other evidence suggests they could be linked to a top French al Qaida operative, David Drugeon, who’s been the target at least twice of U.S. airstrikes in Syria over the last four months. Witnesses inside the magazine’s offices told the French newspaper L’Humanité that both attackers spoke perfect French and claimed to be members of al Qaida.
Drugeon, who many experts believe was a French intelligence asset before defecting to al Qaida, is alleged to have masterminded a 2012 “lone wolf” attack on French soldiers and Jewish targets in the southern French city of Toulouse. That attack killed seven people before the perpetrator, a French citizen named Mohammed Merah, who French intelligence believes had been trained by Drugeon, was killed by a police sniper after a long, violent standoff with security forces.”

Please note the linkage to French Intelligence stated above

Now here’s something really weird; authorities claim to have found one of the gunmen’s identification
the car:
French terrorist ID
As other people have commented, there is no damned way that two professionally-trained shooters would be so stupid as to leave their I.D. in the getaway car. Proof is that they made an attempt to escape, and were partly successful. If they wanted to be known for their deeds they would have just stayed there and shot it out with the authorities.
Remember, when the buildings came down on 911, despite the molten metal and pulverized concrete – a passport of the alleged hijacker was found on the street below. That’s simply impossible, and like this Paris I.D. was probably planted to steer evidence.
Nothing is as it seems and nothing should be taken at face value in this case, which may be the work of western intelligence, Hell-bent on revving up the new cold war.

UPDATE
French Intelligence was tracking the gunmen right up to the attack, but did nothing to stop it. From Le Figaro, by google translation: (link)
“According to the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior, the suspects in the killing of Charlie Hebdo were “probably followed” by the police before the tragedy. But there apparently was no indication of an impending attack.

The Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior have both confirmed on Thursday: suspects who passed the act in the offices of Charlie Hebdo Wednesday were “tracked” by the services.
“There are several arrests that night, there was police custody,” said Manuel Valls on RTL. No fewer than seven people, in fact, members of the entourage of Sharif and Said Kouachi, 32 and 34, two alleged perpetrators of the attack against the satirical newspaper, were in custody Thursday morning.

“The police and justice have dismantled many groups, thwarted planned attacks, said the Prime Minister on RTL. This is proof that we are acting. There are hundreds of people who are followed, dozens of people were arrested, dozens of people who have been incarcerated. ”

Manuel Valls added: “This shows the difficulty which are placed in front of our services: the number of individuals who pose a danger. These individuals were probably followed but there is no zero risk. It’s terrible to say because there are victims, a terrible attack and we are all affected, upset. ”

A scenario to Mohamed Merah
But the interior minister has gone further in the revelations. “These individuals had been the subject of surveillance. Their status was not judicialized (note: there was no judicial proceeding the order). There was no evidence testifying about the imminence of an attack, “said the first cop of France. In short: the police should monitor but did not detect anything suspicious before the fact. Which may evoke a scenario to Mohamed Merah, the killer of Toulouse whose dangerousness was misjudged by counterterrorism before he committed his murders in 2012.

According to the host Beauvau, “we take 100% of precaution, but (…) it is not zero risk.” He concluded: “We are facing a great risk that can lead to further outbreaks of violence.”

Wednesday, just after the tragedy, the scene of the shooting in the satirical newspaper, the president assured that “several attacks have been foiled in recent weeks.” Without giving further details.

Foiled attacks from Lille to Nice
In February, the French anti-terrorism said to be sure to have foiled an imminent attack on the proposed Riviera, fomented by a man returning from the jihad in Syria. Anti-terrorist police had discovered on 17 February 2014, 900g of a suspect product in the building that served as his base near Cannes. The results of the test showed that it was a type of explosive TATP. The Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence (DCRI) was convicted of having “prevented an imminent attack.”

Subsequently, a note of the DCRI said it was a planned attack against Carnival of Nice. It was to be perpetrated by a man just arrived from Syria. The individual, in connection with the Islamist cell called “Cannes-Torcy”, was arrested on the French Riviera two days before the event.

The DCRI synthesis paper reported, in addition, three other projects foiled attacks. Thus, if a person arrested in Lille in 2013, in possession of a recipe for making bombs and religious letter to turn into suicide bomber. Another case mentioned, that of a jihadist back from Syria arrested in July 2014 in Creteil. Made ready, they say, actions against Shiite interests, but he was inquiring well on targets in France, police said.

The anti-terrorist judge Marc Trévidic and former head of the ISB (at the time DCRI), Bernard Cazeneuve, had already stated in the past that France frustrates “twice a year” average terrorist plots on its soil. The commando Charlie Hebdo knew the vigilance of the police.”

UPDATE

The head of police that was investigation the Charlie Hebdo attack has supposedly committed suicide:

Police Commissioner Involved in Charlie Hebdo Investigation “Commits Suicide”. Total News Blackout
By Prof Michel Chossudovsky
Global Research, January 11, 2015
(excerpt)

“Police Commissioner Helric Fredou, Number Two Police Officer of the Regional Service of France’s Judicial Police (JP), Limoges, (Haute-Vienne), “committed suicide on the night of Wednesday to Thursday at the police station.”

Commissioner Helric Fredou was part of the police investigation into the Charlie Hebdo terror attack.

Terror suspects Cherif and Said Kouachi who were shot dead by police on January 9, spent their high-school years in the Limoges region. No doubt this was the object of Fredou’s police investigation. Yet police and media reports state that on that same Wednesday he was involved in a meeting with the family of one of the Charlie Hebdo victims.

On Wednesday, as part of the Charlie Hebdo investigation, he dispatched a team of police officials under his jurisdiction. He is reported to have waited for the return of his team for a debriefing. Immediately following the police debriefing, he was involved in preparing his police report.”

Paul Craig Roberts has some more observations: (link)

Charlie Hebdo Update

Paul Craig Roberts

“Readers, with the exception of neoconservative William Kristol, appreciated the questions I raised about the Charlie Hebdo affair. http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/01/13/charlie-hebdo-paul-craig-roberts/ Europeans sent me videos and news reports from Europe.

One video compares the car in which the killers escaped with the car in which the ID of
one of the accused brothers was allegedly found and makes the point that the two cars differ. The car in which the ID was found apparently is not the escape car.

Another video, which seems to be part of a news report, shows a large force of police waiting as the metal screen over the deli storefront rises. This is the deli in which Amedy Coulibaly is reported to be holding hostages.

As the metal screen rises, police fire into the deli. There seems to be no return fire, and
it is unclear who the police are shooting at. Perhaps it was the heavy firing by the police that killed the hostages.

Police enter and turn to the right. Then Coulibaly appears from the same direction as the police entered. He is in a running stumble as if he has been pushed into the line of fire. There is no weapon in his hands, which appear to be tied together. He falls or is shot down at the door in front of the police, who then fire more bullets into the downed man.

It looks like an execution. It most certainly is not a gun fight. Coulibaly was down and could easily have been captured and questioned. Instead, we have reports of pre-recorded confessions to take the place of capture and questioning.”

I learned quite a bit in reading this huge book, which probably was meant for college classes. Indeed, the author of “Continental Reckoning”, Elliot West, is a Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Arkansas. This book should be in an Economic or Law history class, and probably is. Author Elliot West clearly outlines […]

I found “Acid Dreams; The Complete History Of LSD: The CIA, The Sixties, And Beyond” a pretty good summary of the LSD experience, from the use of the drug in interrogation techniques used by intelligence agencies, to the use of such drugs to destabilize the revolutionary youth movement. Did Jack Scott Radicalize NBA Star Bill Walton? Sadly, we have to note that Bill Walton (and Jack Scott) are no longer living. Walton was a hero for many where I grew up in Portland, Oregon.
